**The Opportunity**
Our busy medical centre is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Senior Medical Receptionist/ 2IC looking to take the next step.

As second in charge you will be part of the reception team and support the Practice Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Medical Centre.

In instances where the Practice Manager is absent from the Centre, the Second In Charge is responsible for ensuring the continued efficient staff management, administration and customer service.

The position is offered on a Casual / Permanent Part Time basis, rostered between both of our North Lakes and Bray Park Clinics.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Provide support to the Practice Manager with staff management and general administrative processes
- Assist the Practice Manager with implementing initiatives and promotions to improve centre performance
- Maintaining a safe, healthy and professional working environment
- Ensure processes and systems are in accordance with the National Standards of Accreditation
- Welcome and assist patients with enquires and appointments
- Answer and respond to telephone enquiries in a courteous and professional manner
- Accurately process patient payments via direct bill, cash and TYRO
- Support the provision of accurate and timely financial and practice data
- Take responsibility for staff management and the efficient delivery of administrative and customer service aspects of the centre in the Practice Manager’s absence

**Requirements**:

- Previous medical reception experience is essential
- Understanding of business operations in a healthcare practice
- Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to master new processes and IT
- Previous experience with Best Practice Software is an advantage
- Previous leadership or supervisory position in a medical practice is desirable

**Skills & experience**
- Previous general medical practice service and experience
- Ability to assist in the day-to-day management, direction and operation of the reception desk
- Excellent communication skills including being an escalation point for Health Professionals and patient complaints
- Proven multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills
- Ability to assist Practice Manager with the management of the financial performance of the centre

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
