We are a Pro-active and Dynamic Accountancy Firm located in the heart of Sydney CBD. Our friendly office Team needs a self-motivated individual to assist in all aspects of hands-on administration or may be looking to pursue a career in tax and accounting services as a Junior accountant.
**The Role**
**6-month probation* starting at 8.30 AM daily.**
**IMPORTANT **NOTE**:1 week paid t**rial period applies: Your daily performance during this 1-week trial will be assessed and determine our offer of the contract.**
**Remuneration: $26.73 per hour**
The Receptionist /Administrator at Banyan Consulting is a broad and interesting role requiring an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with excellent verbal and written skills, professional presentation, sound organisational skills, attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
Pivotal to the company, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient (quality, timely and cost effective) and professional operation of the reception area. You will be expected to demonstrate exceptional customer care and service qualities.
**You will also be in charge of tax and administrative support to our Clients, the company Director and our Team members. **This is a role with variety and your duties will also include**:
- Daily phone reception
- Daily mailing and daily update tax correspondence
- Preparing effective reports, Tax lodgement procedure and General letters
- Bookkeeping activities in Xero and MYOB Accountants Enterprise software - invoicing, following up debtors, receipting, banking, generating reports, reconciling petty cash
- Filing, scanning and electronic file handling
- Database and company's procedures maintenance/ update.
- Receive tasks directly from the Director, update and report tasks completion status to the Director on daily basis.
- Maintain best practice office processes and procedures as per our Company Induction Manual.
- Attend career development training sessions and report training log to the Director.
- Provide competent administrative support to our Clients and Team members.
- Received training to perform accounting tasks such as:
Complete client data input as required.
Generate necessary journal entries and trial balance for checking
Prepare client income tax returns data for processing.
Provide general assistance with the processing of bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
Provide client assistance with compliance issues related to matters arising from PAYG, GST, Workcover, Superannuation, Centrelink and other government agencies.
- Any ad-hoc office duties.

**The essentials**:
- **At least 1 year experience** in reception and administration
- Experience in using **XERO and** **MYOB Accountants Enterprise** software (or similar) **is essential**
- Microsoft Word, Excel, databases - **intermediate level or higher**
- Previous experience working in a small to medium sized office
- Common sense in problem solving and attention to details
- Prompt and consistent communication
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changes
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
- Must be well organised to complete tasks on time
- Take responsibility for own work, and be result-focused

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
