The Controls Assurance & Innovation team is a Centre of Excellence (CoE) within RBS. Our mission is to support the Retail Bank in delivering safe customer outcomes by identifying and protecting against risk events that could impact customers or regulatory obligations. We achieve this through:

- Assisting with testing requirements outlined in the RBS Controls Assurance CAP Schedule.
- Reporting of Controls Assurance Outcomes to key business stakeholders including Business / Process Owners and Chapter Leads.Supporting the CoE Controls Team in driving continual improvement and best practice approaches to Controls Assurance.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Participating in the monitoring, assessment, and testing of controls.
- Evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of controls, including how they are implemented by the business.
- Developing assurance findings that provide actionable insights to mitigate risk.
- Identifying control weaknesses or gaps and recommending improvements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve control monitoring and assurance through technology.
- Reporting assurance outcomes and tracking actions.
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to optimise control testing.Supporting a proactive risk and control culture across RBS.

- Hands-on experience in control testing and assurance, particularly within operational or compliance risk frameworks in Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to use data-driven insights to assess control effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- A proactive risk mindset, with a commitment to identifying, discussing, and acting on current and emerging risks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Consulting and relationship-building skills, to work effectively with business and process owners.
- A continuous improvement approach, with a passion for enhancing control environments through innovation and automation.Experience with SQL would be beneficial.
