**About the Role**

The role of the Technical Officer is to support the Protected Vehicles (PRV) domain which is founded on the development, production and support of Hawkei and Bushmaster Vehicles.

The Engineering Team provides a number of services relating to Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Configuration Management, including; preparation of Engineering Change Proposals, Service Bulletins, Deviations/Waivers, Undertake Engineering Investigations, Preparation of Modification Instructions, Undertake Supportability and Engineering Data Analysis, RODUM Management, Management of Warranty Claims, Maintenance of the Technical Data Library and Mission System Baselines.

The Technical Officer shall support the Engineering team and Solution Engineering Manager in delivering these services to the customers by investigating and presenting all technical issues at the Technical Event Management (TEM) Meetings.

This position can be based at either our Bendigo or Brisbane locations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare, deliver, and manage work packages associated with Engineering needs
- Maintain issues management system and provide monthly reports on progress
- Manage and prioritise work to ensure risks are minimised during product change
- Pro-actively manage and communicate changes to internal and external stakeholders
- Timely process of Engineering Investigations
- Provide clear and accurate technical presentations at the TEM Meetings
- Effectively communicate with all staff within the Brisbane Support Centre (BSC) and Thales Bendigo to ensure there is contractual compliance with the PMV Support Services Contract
- Establish a course of action for self and/or others to accomplish long term or future goals.
- Manage work load effectively to ensure all contractual obligations are adhered to
- Comply with the contractual requirements of the PMV Service Support Contract
- Comply with relevant quality and industry standards
- Provide recommendations to improving internal procedures
- Working effectively with the team/work group or those outside formal line of authority (eg. peers, senior managers) to accomplish organisational goals
- Work effectively with other departments within Thales to ensure required resources are made available for processing and actioning Engineering Change Orders.

**About You**:

- Bachelor degree in a technical/engineering is advantageous, but not required. Relevant trade experience is sufficient.
- Knowledge of WHS/OH&S requirements within the workplace
- Manage time, resources and change effectively.
- Able to exercise skills and knowledge to perform allocated tasks
- Able to work in accordance with Quality Control and WHS/OH&S guidelines
- Able to self-impose standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed by others
- Previous experience with document management and configuration control systems would be advantageous
