**Who we are**
People Division, led by the Chief People Officer (CPO), provides human resources (HR) functions for the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the department) with a clear focus on the department’s most valued asset: its staff.
Alongside contemporary HR functions, projects and strategies People Division is also responsible for:
- enhancing the department’s focus on safety,
- enterprise bargaining,
- cultural and change management, and the department’s response to Australian Public Service (APS) reforms.
Professional and Ethical Standards Branch (PES) are the expert advisors on ethical conduct and accountability under the APS Code of Conduct, the APS Values and the Secretaries Charter of Leadership Behaviours. PES is the primary source in the department to promote, educate and empower our people to adopt a pro-integrity culture through capability development, advice and support in matters relating to conflict of interest, fraud, corruption and the behavioural expectations of the APS and department. PES is responsible for setting the integrity policy framework and work to prevent, detect, and respond to internal fraud, corruption and misconduct, liaising closely with internal stakeholders to build a pro-integrity culture through positive workplace values and behaviours.
The vacancies advertised are within the Strategy, Policy and Engagement section, which are responsible for managing the department’s integrity framework, including reviewing and updating integrity policies. The team are the point of contact for general integrity engagement for the department, such as developing integrity training and awareness sessions, preparing integrity communication. The team are the coordination point for all executive reporting, data reporting and trend monitoring. You will contribute to strategic and project work within the branch, including by supporting building awareness and understanding of the department’s processes for managing reports of inappropriate behaviour, fraud and corruption disclosable conduct and serious and systemic corrupt conduct.

**The job**
As Assistant Director - Strategy, Policy and Engagement, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, development, implementation and embedding of integrity related policies, procedures and related guidance materials.
- Mentoring and leading a team, including building capability through training, professional development and performance management processes.
- Providing expert advice on integrity related policy and procedures specific to the Branch’s remit, such as the department’s processes for managing reports of inappropriate behaviour, early intervention and local management action, Public Interest Disclosure procedures and matters that may give rise to serious or systemic corruption.
- Facilitating and delivering integrity engagement events and activities including training and awareness sessions.
- Oversee the preparation of complex and/or sensitive correspondence, briefs and documentation in a timely manner.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes in line with team goals and objectives.
- Working effectively with stakeholders across the department and externally to drive integrity prevention initiatives, including outreach, communication and awareness raising.

**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship** -**to be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.
**Security Clearance** -** this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
