Emergency Relief Intensive Support Worker
- **Part-time** - 40 hours per fortnight
- **Location**: Newcastle & Lake Macquarie
- This role is paid under the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Award 2010- Level 4
**The opportunity**:
The ISW will be responsible for providing professional and accountable case coordination for emergency relief clients. The ISW will develop and facilitate holistic strength - based case plans to assist in the identification of goals, enabling people accessing services to make informed decision which equip them with the necessary skills and resources to improve their quality of life, well-being, living situation and assist towards a transition into more sustainable living. The ISW will ensure that people seeking emergency relief have access to a wide range of services such as mental health, housing, family support, financial counselling, drug and alcohol and general community services.

**About you**:
- Cert IV or equivalent in Community Services and/or relevant and proven experience in the community services sector
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of case coordination which creates opportunities to empower and promote the well-being of people accessing services
- Experience within the human services sector, including an understanding of casework practice and strengths-based approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop rapport and communicate effectively with people accessing emergency relief
- Experience in working with and managing volunteers
- High level of computer literacy and highly developed administration skills
- Ability to operate with mínimal supervision and as part of a team
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills including demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated commitment to and the ability to maintain confidentiality and accountability; including client records, team and organisational discussions
The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, Criminal history check, Drivers Licence, first aid & CPR certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
