**About the Opportunity**

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join our Beer & Cider team.

This position is accountable for the Range strategy across commercial, craft and local for the Beer & Cider categories, which includes the product & process strategy framework, ranging, pricing & product performance review.

We are looking for a Category Manager who is driven by customer insights and can lead the strategic ranging strategy for the Endeavour Beer and Cider category, with the ability to leverage cross functional relationships and implement an innovative customer centric range strategy.

Supplier and stakeholder management is key and you will work closely with category teams to develop strong commercial relationships with major suppliers and trading partners.

Reporting to the Head of Merchandise for Beer & Cider, you will be responsible for:

- Developing and executing a range strategy across all Endeavour retail brands that is underpinned by clear strategies supporting local craft, customer led innovation and trend leadership.
- Negotiating and leading commercial conversations for the category with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships with our trade partners to access exclusive & first to market product opportunities.
- Playing a key role in sales and profit with cost of goods negotiations, product mix and under performance of ranged sku's.
- Accelerating the local and locally relevant store ranging program to ensure an industry-leading customer first approach; translating this with the format team to develop concept stores and precincts.
- Working closely with key suppliers to ensure the continuation of a strong pipeline of local product innovation.
- Collaborate cross-category and cross-functionally to drive alignment across all of Endeavours retail brands ensuring the range and innovation strategies are customer first.
- Build strong internal relationships with multiple stakeholders in Space, Operations, Pinnacle, Store Development, logistics & trading teams.
- Develop and empower your team to work end to end together, creating a customer first team culture.

**What you’ll need to succeed**:
You will bring to the role strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships, with proven experience in category management in a retail setting, ideally in the liquor industry.
You’ll be adept at developing category strategies and translating strategy into business outcomes, with significant experience in Product Development.

You will be an engaging people leader with a collaborative working style, be agile in your thinking and adaptable to change.
You will also have:

- A proven track record in delivering product innovation at the interface with suppliers & translating into store concepts.
- Strong commercial acumen - ability to lead and negotiate commercial conversations for the category and business.
- The ability to leverage data & insights to drive continuous improvement and sustainable growth for both Endeavour Group and our supply partners, with an understanding of core Category Management fundamentals.
- Excellent communication skills (written / verbal).
- A passion for leadership and developing talent.
- Knowledgeable and confident in the world of liquor; Beer/Cider experience will be highly regarded.
