**About the position**
We are seeking a dynamic professional to take on the Team Leader, Analysis & Assurance role within our Operation Safety team. Reporting to the Head of Systems and Assurance, you will be primarily responsible for managing and developing the processing of safety, risk and hazard data and trend analysis to provide safety intelligence to the management team and support the development of the Safety Management System. Other key duties will include (but not limited to):

- Ensures the timely assessment, management and distribution of safety intelligence to allow the business to effectively implement the requirements of the Safety Management System and manage its safety risks
- Coordinate and develops the work with the Safety and Risk Data systems and Business Intelligence systems and their reporting inputs and outputs to enable safety decision making and implementation of the Safety Management System.
- Oversee projects to streamline and continuously improve safety and security management systems.
- You will coach and mentor a sizeable team of individuals that possess diverse skills and experience and are passionate about contributing to Metro Trains values, goals and strategy.

To ensure success in this role, you will have a strong safety, operations and/or a people leadership background.- You are motivated by having an impact and have a track record in influencing positive outcomes within the business.
- You will be a highly effective communicator (both written and verbal)
- Advanced knowledge and/or ability in using Microsoft Excel/Power BI or similar business intelligence/INX or equivalent SMSDS
- Formal qualifications in a Health, Safety or Environment and extensive proven experience, relevant at least across two of these disciplines will be highly regarded
