**Your role**
- Homes NSW is seeking a skilled Media Advisor to join our Public Affairs and Engagement team on a part-time basis for a 12-month contract. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong media experience—whether from a newsroom or media management background—who thrives in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment.
- You’ll be part of a passionate and highly capable media team, helping to shape and deliver strategic media communications that support Homes NSW’s public engagement and reputation.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver proactive media materials including strategies, releases, statements, and mitigation plans.
- Manage reactive media enquiries and issues, preparing timely and accurate responses.
- Coordinate media event logistics to ensure strategic objectives are met.
- Create and edit content for various channels including media packs, social media, websites, and internal communications.
- Monitor media trends and provide insights and recommendations to manage reputational risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and service providers to deliver high-quality, audience-relevant communications.
- Provide support across the broader media and communications team.

**What we’re looking for**
- Proven experience in a newsroom or media management environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Availability for occasional on-call and out-of-hours work, including participation in a rotating on-call roster (typically one week every 4-5 weeks).
- Willingness to travel for media events and content capture.
- Flexibility to work from home, with regular online meetings and at least two days per week in the office or as required for press events.
