**Patient Administration Officer**

**Permanent Part time - Minimum 40 hours/fortnight**

We are seeking applicants who have an interest in working as a Patient Administration Officer primarily performing a Ward Clerk role. The successful applicant will be based in the G Pavilion (Medical) Ward, with the expectation that they will also undertake administrative duties within other areas of Noosa Hospital as required to meet the needs of the business. This ward clerk role and will entail covering for 3 days each week on the ward. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work up their hours by also working admin roles across other departments on the remaining days.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Experience in previous hospital or similar administration role (preferred not essential)
- Be passionate, engaging and focused on providing exceptional customer service and sensitivity to patient & family needs
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and complete tasks within a designated timeframe
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft programs and Patient Management software
- Required availability Monday to Friday

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Provide timely and accurate information in response to queries by patients, doctors, visitors and other customers;
- Maintain correct compilation of patient files and records throughout admission and upon discharge;
- Accurate and timely completion and scanning of documentation;
- Perform and interpret Health Fund eligibility checks;
- Provide effective management of incoming and outgoing calls to the ward;
- Provide administrative support to relevant ward personnel as required;
- Other duties as required.
