The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Corrections Victoria, is seeking a **Manager, Digital Operations** to provide a critical role within the Digital Operations Unit.

**About the Business Unit**

Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's prison system and Post Sentence Scheme. As a service agency within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, CV develops and implements operational policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate them by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

The Digital Operations Unit (DOU) provides a strategic focus and drives innovation, enhances governance and ensures continuous improvement as it relates to in cell technology at Corrections Victoria. DOU leads identification and prioritisation according to system needs and assists Technology Solutions and Digital Security (TSDS) in the development and implementation of new technologies that enhance operational efficiency, security and opportunities for rehabilitation and reintegration for people in custody.

**About the Role**

The Manager, Digital Operations Unit reports to the Deputy Commissioner, Custodial Operations and is responsible for managing a team as well as the provision of strategic advice and briefings in relation to in-cell technology.

While the position is based at 121 Exhibition Street Melbourne, flexible work arrangements are available, in accordance with DJCS policies, and you will be required to travel to other locations based on business needs.

Some of your duties will include:

- Manage the Digital Operations Unit and the provision of high-quality, authoritative, strategic advice; high-level briefing papers and proposals in relation to in-cell technology, the access of information technology solutions available to people in custody, and the preparation of complex correspondence on behalf of the Commissioner, Corrections Victoria's Executive Committee and Government.
- Review, develop, and implement operational policy as it relates to digital operations across the Victorian prison system.
- Research and evaluate service delivery options and provide strategic advice and guidance on the impact of enhancements to service delivery and related issues.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policy frameworks and processes aligned to government and statutory requirements that deliver agreed outcomes is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of and/or experience in Victorian government administrative processes.
- Proven track record in providing advice within a complex environment.
- Knowledge of current technology direction, research and issues within the justice system more broadly, or the ability to understand these issues quickly.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills with ability to analyse complex operational, policy, risk and legal data and issues.

**Qualifications/requirements**
- A tertiary qualification in law, public policy or similar is desired.
- A qualification or relevant experience in a technology environment would be highly advantageous.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence
