In this exciting and diverse role, no two days are the same. A significant portion of your role will be to guide and support a team of sourcing specialists, concentrating their expertise and capabilities to deliver agile, commercially robust, pre-award contract services to the business. Your team will take on a key role in delivering strategic initiatives aligned to the Annual Procurement Plan with a focus on process improvement and building the procurement brand across the business.

As you focus on delivering fit-for-purpose, value for money, risk appropriate procurement contract services that support the delivery of business-wide strategic initiatives, you will collaborate and engage with a number of key customers within the business.

You will:

- Bring expertise to the role with your strong working knowledge of heavy engineering and construction procurement
- Confidently advise and make recommendations to your customers regarding best practice, and fit for purpose sourcing strategies
- Leverage your experience in delivering pre-award contract services to both operational and corporate functions across the business.
- Strategize resource allocation to meet business demands, overseeing Senior and Sourcing Specialists' deployment for major projects, and facilitating backfilling when necessary
- Participate in high-stakes supplier negotiations and handling complex contractual matters, employing coaching techniques to enhance the team's skill set on the job

**Your expertise**:

- Degree within Supply, Business or Law or a lesser qualification with significant experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within procurement leadership
- Track record in developing, implementing, and overseeing strategic plans for procurement specialist teams
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive quality reviews of contract documentation, emphasising commercial and legal aspects
- Proven ability to design tailored contracting models aligned with business goals and risk profiles
- Leadership in identifying and implementing innovative technologies, processes, and tools while providing necessary training and mentorship
- Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving, agile thinking and analytical skills to address diverse and complex situations effectively
