**About the Role**

Due to the acquisition of new contracts and continued business growth we have an immediate requirement for an experienced Strategic Sourcing and Contracts Officer to join our client on a 7-month contract based in their Logan Central office.

**An overview is the below;**
- Support the delivery of high-quality procurement and contracts management services across Council
- Provide technical procurement support and advice, ensuring that all procurement and purchasing requests are actioned in a timely manner
- Source information relating to current contracts through performance of audits and engagement with contract users.
- Act as the dedicated point of contact for delegated branches with relation to quotations and general procurement activities.
- Demonstrated procurement experience - preferably in large organisation or local government entity

Comprehensive understanding of relevant procurement legislation
- Diploma of Government (Procurement & Contracting), or similar, would be highly desirable.
- Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of a Finance or Procurement Software system
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with colleagues and external parties.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, independently or as part of a team
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks
