**Melbourne**, we are seeking an experienced
**Grid Connection Manager** to support our expanding portfolio of onshore wind and solar developments in Australia.
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
- Support power system studies to define generator performance standards and standards for grid connection and review grid connection deliverables by consultants and OEMs;
- Management of grid connection deliverables in conjunction with the electrical balance of plant design, and scope out tasks to be required to be performed by consultancies to guide projects to FID;
- Establish and maintain the electrical works specification and project specific designs for EPC contracts;
- Support the negotiations for equipment supply to ensure risk balanced grid solutions from early technical compliance due diligence to R2 testing;
- Support the negotiations for continuous grid compliance in service agreements; and
- Support the broader decarbonisation strategy of Shell Energy.

**What you’ll bring**
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Previous experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution industries;
- Experience in connecting renewable energy generators either in the NEM or WEM, with good knowledge of the National Electricity rules;
- Generator and Power Systems Modelling, with experience using PSS/E, PSCAD & PF simulation tools;
- Ability and experience in managing and negotiating with stakeholders, suppliers, consultants and authorities;
- Experience in undertaking grid connection studies from pre-FIA to R2;
- Substation and electrical BoP design experience well regarded;
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills;
- Good problem-solving skills;
- High levels of initiative;
- Drive and ambition to lead renewable growth and energy transition at Shell Energy; and
- Tertiary qualification in electrical or power systems engineering would be beneficial.
