About The Company
Our client is a fast-growing niche engineering consultancy providing end-to-end solutions to connect generation assets into the grid. They specialise in designing, building, commissioning, and operating complex renewable energy projects.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Grid Connections Engineer to lead new generator connection applications, grid connection studies, power systems analysis, and support GPS development and AEMO approvals. The role reports to the Head of Grid Connections and also involves mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with clients, TNSPs, and AEMO to ensure seamless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead grid connection, planning, and feasibility studies for renewable and HV projects
  • Develop RMS/EMT models and provide GPS compliance support
  • Prepare technical inputs for R1/R2, connection applications, and reports
  • Support testing and commissioning of transmission and distribution generation assets
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide peer review of project deliverables

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (post-graduate in Power Systems desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years experience on Australian projects with full working rights
  • Strong knowledge of power system analysis, transmission/distribution, and protection & control
  • Proficiency in PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, RMS/EMT modelling
  • Understanding of AEMO rules, access standards, and grid codes
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
