The Australian Government provides funding to state and territory governments to maintain an organ and tissue service in their state or territory (DonateLife network).
DonateLife SA coordinates all organ and tissue donor activities across the state. It works with hospitals and hospital-based DonateLife medical and nursing specialists to provide professional donation services and encourage best practice to increase organ donation rates.
As part of the DonateLife SA (DLSA) team, the Business Support, Communications and Events Officer will work to deliver media and public relations programs/activities to raise awareness of organ and tissue donation in accordance with the national/state communications charters and strategies.
The Business Support, Communications and Events Officer coordinates communication, education and awareness events relating to DLSA’s core business; examples include DonateLife Week, the Rose Planting Ceremony and Service of Remembrance, and coordination of the volunteer program and community functions and events.
The Business Support, Communications and Events Officer will work with a variety of people including but not limited to DLSA Management, SA Health and the Australian Organ and Tissue Authority (OTA) Offices and will report to the DLSA Admin Manager on a daily basis.
The position will also cover administrative and project support services that includes secretarial, administrative services, office support services, such as financial processing functions, and project coordination. In addition the Business Support, Communications and Events Officer will provide a back-up personal assistant support service to the State Medical Director and Nursing Director DonateLife SA under the direction of the Admin Manager.
