**How will I help?**

Join the Reward, Performance and Accountability team as a Legal & Assurance Associate in a role that will span the Westpac Group and make sure we have simple and efficient ways of working to get the job done. With a legal / compliance background, you will be someone who enjoys building processes, systems and tools to get the right outcomes collaborating across functions Legal, Business Controls and Monitoring team and the 2nd Line of Defence Risk team, you will be a collaborative problem solver who continually looks for ways to improve and innovative to achieve great outcomes. You will constantly examine operations across the Accountability team to examine how things could be simpler, and support the execution of our processes and work to exceed expectations.

**What do I need?**
- A bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience in legal, compliance, or assurance roles. Experience in a corporate or financial services environment can be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of legal principles, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Familiarity with risk management and assurance practices.
- Ability to analyze complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting documents and interacting with stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing documents and ensuring compliance.
- Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or other relevant certifications can be beneficial.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools, compliance software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- High ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
