The Role

Pakenham Racing Club is seeking Manager - Racecourse Tracks to manage all aspects of the training and racing surfaces, this includes,
- Sand training tracks.
- Synthetic training and racing tracks.
- Turf training tracks.
- Turf racing track.

The Manager - Racecourse Tracks, will work closely with GM Racecourse to lead and develop the team that undertakes the various maintenance works of all the tracks, ensuring that the tracks are prepared for the daily horse training requirements as well as the clubs 38 scheduled race meeting each season.

The applicant will have minimum three (3) years’ experience in managing both training and racing surfaces and a demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.

Desired Attributes

The desired applicant will possess the following attributes,
- Qualification - Minimum Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
- Hands on, highly motivated individual that takes pride in their work.
- Experience in managing, maintaining and operating irrigation systems.
- Experience in managing and maintaining sand-based profiles.
- Experience managing and maintaining both warm and cool season turf.
- Strong knowledge in the use of agricultural and turf machinery used to prepare the racing and training surfaces.
- Strong understanding of horse training and racing operations and how surfaces need to be maintained to meet industry requirements.
