Where we are searching for a versatile kitchen hand and assistant. In this role, you’ll excel at dishwashing while becoming an integral part of our close-knit VIVE Family. Your responsibilities will extend beyond the washroom, as you’ll assist in ensuring every class participant enjoys a memorable experience. This includes serving drinks, warmly greeting customers at the door and maintaining a clean, organized and inviting environment. You'll receive comprehensive training. Nestled in the heart of Roseberry, we offer a diverse range of cooking classes that cater to various tastes and skill levels. Whether you’re a novice in the kitchen or a seasoned chef, we have something to tantalize your taste buds and ignite your culinary curiosity.

**Role Overview**:
We're in search of an enthusiastic and seasoned all-rounder to assist and bolster our accomplished Chefs.
- Dishwashing: Operating a dishwasher, cleaning kitchen equipment and other general kitchen duties. Thoroughly clean and dry all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Kitchen Clean-up: Keep workstations, countertops, and kitchen areas tidy and organized.
- Support During Classes: Provide behind-the-scenes support during cooking classes, ensuring that ingredients and equipment are ready for use. Assist cooking class instructors by setting up equipment, moving ingredients and coordinating the flow of the class.
- Inventory Management: Help maintain stock levels of kitchen supplies, ingredients, and cleaning materials.
- Compliance with Safety and Hygiene Standards: Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe kitchen space. Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and safety protocols in both the kitchen and washroom.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers at the door, provide a warm and friendly welcome, and answer any initial questions they may have.
- Drink Service: Prepare and serve beverages to customers during classes, ensuring their needs are met.
- Customer Experience: Enhance the overall experience for class participants by being attentive, helpful and ensuring they have all they need for a successful cooking session.
- Organizational Tasks: Help with organizing kitchen supplies, scheduling and maintaining a smooth operation within the school. Preparing equipment and workstations for classes.

In this floater role, being a team player, having a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential qualities. The Kitchen Assistant may have more customer-facing responsibilities, while the Kitchen Hand’s role is more focused on dishwashing and kitchen maintenance.

**About You**:
**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Previous front-of-house, café/restaurant experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a background in cleaning.
- A positive growth mindset and the ability to take initiative.
- Comfortable as a team player and capable of thriving independently.
- Availability from Wednesday to Sunday.

Hours Vary, Wednesday - Sunday

(occasionally Monday & Tuesday Shifts)

**Work Eligibility**:
Preferred eligibility to work permanently with no restrictions on hours (e.g., citizen, permanent resident).
Preferred valid RSA qualification.
