Monash Health Pathology is an integral part of Monash Health. It is the largest public provider of Pathology services in the state and currently operates 6 laboratories. The largest of these is located at the Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, with additional laboratories located at the Dandenong, Moorabbin, Casey, Victorian Heart Hospital and Wonthaggi Hospitals. There is currently 18 collection locations based within the hospital sites and community settings. Services are provided to the Public and Private sectors, and other laboratory services.
About the Role
The Sendaway & Logistics team Leader will be accountable and responsible to the Pre-Analytical Services Manager for the quality and timeliness of all aspects of Sendaway and logistics processes.This position requires relevant experience and understanding of Specimen Reception processes and customer service together with a general knowledge of pathology. The Team Leader will supervise and co-ordinate the workflow and activities of referred tests and logistics services as determined by Monash Health.You will be part of a 24-hour roster that rotates to other Monash locations as needed. Health and Safety is essential requirements of the position in order to protect yourself and others. All personnel are required to wear approved safety glasses in conjunction with other personal protective equipment (provided by Monash Health).
What You Need to Know
We are seeking a reliable and flexible person who enjoy working in a team environment with mínimal supervision. You will have advanced keyboard and data entry skills with high levels of accuracy and will be required to help in the preparation of specimens for analysis to referal laboratories. Any leadership experience would be desirable. Sendaway department will have shifts rostered between 0630 - 2200 Monday to Friday however shifts maybe rostered as required to cover a 24/7 service which includes night shift and weekends across all sites as required.
