APV-S are seeking a Team Leader to join our product assembly team in Campbellfield, Victoria. The primary objective of this role will be to provide hands-on process work for the manufacture of our seatbelts and products.

The main activities within this role include to:

  • Take reasonable care of ones own health and safety and the health and other persons who may be affected by their actions.
  • Team lead 5-10 employees including allocating job assignments, supervision, training, reporting quality concerns and process control.
  • Perform quality checks, inspections, sample control and compliance testing reviews and approvals as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct start up procedures and ongoing parts control for the team.
  • Ensure the work areas are clean and tidy at all times (5's principles).
  • Computer Administration - training is available 

    a. Create shop orders

    b. Production report the shop orders

    c. Conduct stock downgrades

    d. Conduct stock scrap transactions

    c. Transfer stock for COP testing
  • Support other work groups and business functions as required.

Selection Criteria:

  • Prior experience as a Team Leader in a process manufacturing environment. Formal training is advantageous. Prior experience in an organisation that requires tight quality controls is a must.
  • The ability to read and write in English is required including basic mathematical skills. Visual discrimination skills, refined motor skills and manual dexterity are key in being able to perform this role. Basic computer skills are essential.
  • The applicant must have good interpersonal skills and be able to maintain good relationships with direct reports, colleagues and supervisors. Further, they will be self-motivated, professional and act with maturity without supervision.
  • Experience working in Automotive, Food, Aviation or industry which relies on strict process control is advantageous, though not essential.
