An exciting opportunity has become available at Grays for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Officer to join the team. Based in Victoria, this role will give you plenty of variety, as you’ll be responsible for Health, Safety and Environment within Grays in Victoria and Tasmania as well as providing services to external customers. Reporting to the National WHS Manager, you’ll leverage your technical skills, knowledge and experience, as well as your relationship management capability to deliver a range of Health, Safety and Environment initiatives and maintain HSE at an operational level. This position is instrumental in facilitating a positive safety culture at Grays and driving continuous improvement.

**In this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Undertaking WHS&E inspections, audits and plant hazard reviews and providing reports for clients in relation to third party sites.
- Assisting clients in the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety measures.
- Managing contractor onsite activities to Grays or client requirements, as needed.
- Proactively facilitating a positive safety culture at Grays, including developing, implementing and maintaining awareness initiatives and training programs.
- Conducting risk assessments and facility/site inspections.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining corrective and preventative measures and systems, including the implementation of hazard identification and risk management principles in order to prevent workplace injury and illness.
- Incident and injuries investigation and management.
- Managing Workers’ Compensation and return to work.
- Providing interpretation and counsel to internal stakeholders regarding Occupational Health and Safety policies, programs, practices and legislation.
- Implementing and managing documentation and information systems for all WHS&E requirements.

**We’re looking for someone who has**:

- In-depth knowledge of and demonstrated experience in, Occupational Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
- Knowledge of ISO45001.
- Tertiary qualification/s in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Experience in commercial warehouse and industrial settings.
- Consulting and negotiation skills.
- Relationship management and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication skills and highly service oriented.
- The ability to work well with mínimal supervision.
- A continuous improvement mindset and team orientation.
- This role will involve driving out to client sites so we’re seeking someone who is happy to use their own reliable vehicle to drive to sites._
