The Opportunity:
AIA Australia is currently undergoing a large technology, data and business transformation program resulting in refreshing the technology blueprint and the introduction of contemporary ways of working with the aim of creating a simpler, faster more connected organisation.

The Head of Information Security & Operations is a key member of the Information Security, Technology Controls & Governance team and contributes to the successful enablement of the AIA Australia enterprise-wide Technology, Digital & Analytics (TDA) strategy, vision and roadmap.

Key to the success of the Head of Information Security & Operations will be the effective overseeing of AIA Australia’s alignment to Group Office and digital transformation agenda by providing leadership in ensuring security controls are operating effectively in the technology environment and to treat security as an enabler to strategy.
- Leading the information security operations function for AIA Australia
- Leading the cyber hygiene program to ensure security controls are operating within risk appetite
- Driving implementation of security technologies within the business to identify, protect, detect, respond and recover from cyber security threats
- Recommending courses of action based on analysis of both existing and emerging threats. Deliver reports, briefings, and assessments to leadership to facilitating their understanding of emerging issues
- Providing oversight to incident response activities (triage, root cause analysis, escalations, notifications, communication, etc.) and develop strategies to contain and eradicate the incident. Ensure technology operations are recovered seamlessly
- Executing information security strategy, policies and processes to ensure compliance with AIA’s group-wide security policies and frameworks

To be successful in this position, you will have:

- Substantial leadership experience in information security and operations, preferably in Financial Services, Banking and/or Insurance. Consulting or Defence background desirable
- Excellent technical skills in security technology across Microsoft, Unix, Network and Cloud technologies
- Strong understanding of security best practices and passionate about raising security awareness
- Detailed knowledge of common security threats and vulnerabilities
- Strong demonstrated organisational, prioritisation, critical thinking and leadership skills
- Extensive influencing, consultation, negotiation and communications skills to manage internal and external stakeholders and build relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Strong engagement capability across local and regional business level, in a highly disruptive business context
