**About WSP’s Australian Maritime Team**:
WSP’s Australian maritime team is a highly collaborative, dynamic, and focused group of specialists working across regional borders to deliver the highest quality outcomes for clients and projects around Australia and internationally. We are at the forefront of highly innovative planning, design, and development for port, maritime, and intermodal facilities. We are currently delivering some of the biggest and most exciting, challenging, and fulfilling projects in the region, and are growing our team based on our strong workload and project pipeline.

**About the Role**

**What you’ll do**:
Working with clients to define their requirements and discuss progress, delivering a high-quality client experience:

- Taking a lead role in business development activities, preparing winning proposals that demonstrate your understanding of the client’s needs
- Acting in a client facing role, achieving a high level of satisfaction with our existing clients, and developing new clients
- Leading the delivery of a variety of maritime projects across a range of sectors
- Managing quality, scope, fee, and schedule on projects
- Working across different project phases from initial concepts through to detailed designs
- Identifying and evaluating appropriate and practical solutions to the challenges set by our clients
- Preparation of high-quality bids, designs, reports, and presentations
- Collaborating with colleagues in the Australian and Global maritime teams, contributing to WSP’s global maritime practice
- Supporting Engineers to develop their skills and acting as a mentor to new members of staff
- Working with relevant design codes, legislations, and standards, and passing your knowledge on to other team members
- Leading Safety in Design activities and maintaining a safe working environment
- Promotion of WSP’s team at industry events, including publication and presentation of technical papers
- Short to medium term site visits (Australia and Overseas) may also become necessary depending on project requirements

We are looking for a Technical Executive with a sound technical and commercial background, who shares our enthusiasm and determination to develop and deliver opportunities across multiple sectors.

**Main Requirements**
- Applicants with 20+ years of experience will be considered
- Chartered with a recognised industry body
- Excellent working knowledge of maritime design and planning, including maritime codes of practice / standards
- Demonstrated experience in delivering a range large scale and complex maritime projects across different sectors and commodities
- Ability to consistently deliver technically sound advice in alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule
- A team player with a strong track record in strategically improving the technical capabilities of the team
- Proven time management and organisational skills, with an ability to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organisation, and with external project stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
