**Salary**: $35.77 p/hour (Excluding penalties)

**The Opportunity**:
For an experienced Disability Support Worker looking to take the next step in their career or a current Team Leader, join our Supported Independent Living Services at Bright/Fassina located on the Brighton Campus. You will work within and support a passionate team, leading by example to provide care to our residents. You will promote person centred care and have a genuine desire to encourage social inclusion for the participant that we support, promoting best practice for your team. In this role, you will support a client with complex and challenging behaviours, having experience working with people with an Acquired Brain Injury will set you up for success

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- Leading, coaching and guiding the Disability Support Workers in your team to achieve great outcomes and experiences for the people we support
- In conjunction with the Manager of the area, ensuring employees possess the required skills to perform their role, providing regular performance and conduct related feedback to be successful in their work
- Ensuring effective communication with stakeholder is maintained at all times, providing customer service and support to our residents and their families
- Engaging and promoting person-centred active support in areas such as emotional behaviour, education, cooking and domestic duties
- Adapting service delivery and support as appropriate to meet participant needs and preferences, encouraging clients to make choices and decisions about all aspects of their life
- Working to support and collaborate with the team to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery, which empowers participants to be involved in decision making and choice
- Assisting with review and maintenance of compliance of service delivery ensuring that this aligns with NDIS & DSOA Plans, Minda Policies, Procedures and Frameworks working towards opportunities for improvement
- Managing client, stakeholder and staff issues or complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Role is a split structure, 24 hours providing direct support to resident and 14 hours providing administrative and supervisor tasks

**To be successful in this role**:

- Must have prior experience supporting people with Acquired Brain Injury
- Energetic, positive, resilient and creative personality
- Able to commit to a 7-day rotating roster, morning and afternoon shifts
- Experience supporting people with disability and behaviours of concern utilising a professional and empathetic approach
- Demonstrated experience leading a team and providing coaching
- Possesses a good understanding of the NDIA, NDIS, Disability Service Standards and relevant legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and experience with stakeholder communication and engagement
- Experience with medication administration
- Experienced in completion of documentation and administration

**The requirements of this role**:

- Male only service
- To complete regular Acquired Brain Injury training
- Minimum Cert III Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or related
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or valid DHS Disability Clearance
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 & HLTAID001)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Assist with Medication Certificate
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Unrestricted Working Rights in Australia
- Fully Vaccinated (2 doses + booster of a TGA Approved Vaccination)
