Provide expert advice to peers and relevant stakeholders on professional, resource and operational issues relating to service provision and provide after hours support and advice on complex processing or pre-analytical support to the laboratory.
Manage and direct the performance and operation of pre-analytical services across PAH campus with accountability for the budget, assets and human resources of the department in line with the strategic direction of PQ and QPHaSS. In conjunction with the Group Laboratory Manager prepare submissions for staff and equipment to ensure that the CSR department service is appropriately resourced.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under 'Your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated ability to provide advice to laboratory staff and Hospital and Health Service clients on a broad range of issues pertaining to service delivery and improvement opportunities for Pathology Queensland.
- Demonstrated ability to provide pre-analytical services of a complex nature to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standardsand established principles / procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated well developed level of knowledge, expertise and skill in the management of human, financial and physical resources of a large laboratory department in line with the strategic direction of Pathology Queensland.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Mandatory Qualifications: Nil
- Whilst not mandatory, it is desirable to hold a Certificate III in Pathology (Laboratory Assistance) or equivalent, would be well regarded.
