**ARPC Position Description**

**Purpose of the role **(Why the role exists; how the role contributes to the ARPC’s strategic objectives)
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high quality event management to ARPC, including external events (for
ARPC stakeholders, partners, and insurer customers) and internal events (for ARPC employees). The role may also assist
with broader communications activities such as media monitoring, website content maintenance and digital
communications.

**Role model ARPC’s Values and Code of Conduct and Capabilities set out in ARPC’s Capability Framework
Plan and deliver internal and external events, have a deep understanding of how well-organised events drive
engagement and support business strategy. These events include:
- Internal events: examples include employee offsites, executive team offsites, workshops, team celebration
events, and events conducted internally with ARPC’s business partners
- External events: Examples include the annual ARPC Terrorism Risk Insurance and Cyclone Risk Insurance
Seminars, and other stakeholder events
**Event management**
- Lead the end-to-end event planning process for ARPC events including venue sourcing and booking, invitations,
ordering of audio-visual equipment, seating and space requirements, dietary requirements, ordering catering and
onsite management
- Deliver assigned events on time, within budget, and in accordance with established expectations
- Liaise with event guests to ensure arrival times and other important engagement requirements are agreed and
confirmed
- Establish and nurture relationships with vendors, venues, suppliers
- Coordinate the delivery of event collateral as required (including brochures, workbooks, presentation decks,
photography, newsletters, website)
**Declared Terrorism Incident (DTI) and Declared Cyclone Event (DCE) monitoring**
Contribute to the daily digital media monitoring as required to keep ARPC staff and stakeholders informed about
terrorism and cyclone events and trends.
**Website content maintenance**:
Contribute to day-to-day website content management as needed, including co-ordination of content (updates, editing
and consistency of voice), appropriate governance (approvals), timeliness, and accuracy.
**Digital communications delivery**:
Support the communications team to draft and produce a range of items as needed including: a digital newsletter,
insurer customer EDMs, and a relevant and engaging social media presence.
**Other**:
Participate in ARPC corporate projects as and when opportunities arise

- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, vendors, and partners

**Qualifications and experience**
**Qualifications **(indicate whether mandatory or desired)
- Tertiary qualification (or working toward) in Communications or related field or equivalent experience
- Mandatory_

- Relevant knowledge and experience in communications and/or marketing _Mandatory_
- Experience with project coordination (such as event management and the coordination of communication
pieces involving a variety of contributing stakeholders) _Desired _
- Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance, banking, or financial services_ Desired_

- Communications expertise coupled with energy and passion for the Communications profession
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Working knowledge of WordPress and Mailchimp _highly desirable_
- Strong project coordination skills in timeline driven/high pressure environments
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint & Excel_ _
