**T**he Opportunity**

As we undergo an exciting transformation of our website and Design Language System (DLS), you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape and define the creative direction, vision, user experience, and e-commerce strategy.

You’ll oversee product design across multiple multidisciplinary squads while also staying hands-on with your own squad.

As a key member of our Product Design leadership team, you’ll play a crucial role in driving our digital strategy, elevating design practices across the organisation, and contributing to a positive, collaborative design team culture. You’ll help shape an environment where creativity, growth, and innovation thrive.

**The Product Design Team**

At Medibank, Product Design spans the entire design process, from uncovering user needs through research to crafting exceptional visual and interaction design. Our approach is centred around putting people first, and we value collaboration across disciplines to learn from one another and continuously improve.

You’ll be joining and helping to lead a talented team of over 18 designers, each bringing their own unique skills and creativity to the table.

Beyond the core team, you’ll also collaborate with a broader community of diverse peers who share the same passion for making a positive impact on the health of everyday Australians. Together, this group brings a wide range of perspectives, backgrounds, and a collective enthusiasm for human-centred problem-solving.

While we’ve embraced async ways of working but make an effort to come into the office once a week to connect as humans and more broadly. (also to enjoy our brand new office)

**About the role?**

This is a key position within the Product Design Leadership team, with a primary focus on ecommerce for our retail, corporate, and other insurance product customers. You’ll collaborate closely with your design peers to create a seamless, end-to-end customer journey.

On a typical day, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategy, align designs and teams with our vision and information architecture, and explore best practice patterns to enhance our Design Language System (DLS).

On the fun side, it's not all serious business—we make time for creativity and team bonding. You’ll have the chance to explore the latest industry trends and new tools like Figma, collaborate in brainstorming sessions with the team, and participate in engaging activities that strengthen our connections. We place a strong emphasis on team building and fostering a collaborative, enjoyable work environment.

- Be a role model by supporting fellow designers in advocating for best practices and design solutions within their squads, ensuring their voices are heard throughout product development.
- Lead the ongoing improvement and evolution of design processes, governance, and infrastructure to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Shape the team's roadmap by offering insights from a user-centred perspective and guiding them toward achieving measurable, impactful goals.

- Take hands-on responsibility for ensuring design quality, cohesion, and innovation across all Responsive Web Product Design.
- Advocate for design and user experience practices across the organisation, taking time to engage with stakeholders, guiding them through the value of design-centred approaches, and fostering a shared understanding and appreciation for user-focused solutions.
- Collaborate with product and technology counterparts to define and drive the design vision for your area, while ensuring seamless integration of all Medibank products.
- Diagnose and address design challenges, continuously refining your approach to enhance the user experience and deliver high-impact solutions.
