**The Role**

The Junction Works’ Supported Independent Living homes provide supported accommodation within a vibrant community for people with a disability. Our flexible and responsive support services cater to evolving needs, empowering residents to lead fulfilling, independent lives.

As a vital part of our team under the Manager, Supported Independent living, you you'll play a key role in fostering growth and development. Through a positive, strengths-based approach, you'll guide residents to reach their potential and seamlessly integrate into the community.

Some of your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- An open and creative mindset to the position - new and innovative ideas are a must
- Extensive experience supporting people with a dual diagnosis
- Strong organisational skills and a collaborative team based approach
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders (internal and external)
- Emotional intelligence, resilience and drive, with the capability of working in isolation
- A qualification in disability / community services
- Please Note: These roles work on a 7 day roster that will include weekend, evening and overnight shifts. Due to expansion, we have permanent and casual positions available. _

**To be successful you need**:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- National Police Check
- Ideally, tertiary qualifications in Disability, Community Services or related discipline.
- Experience working within a disability/supported accommodation environment
- Demonstrated experience in implementing person centred approaches and models of service.
- Ability to work with people with a disability, including those needing support around challenging behaviours and personal care.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, including an ability to communicate with participants and families from a range of cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to team work and development.
- Understanding of WHS requirements and commitment to promote within the workplace.
- Understanding of NDIS and Quality & Safeguarding framework.
- Ability to identify and understand the challenges faced by people with a disability from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
- Desirable: Experience providing supportive care to residents facing mental health challenges is highly valued.
