We are seeking a full-timePaint Preparation Technician in our busy panel shop. Immediate start.

**THE ROLE**
- **
Surface Preparation**: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing them to ensure proper adhesion of paint. This may involve using sanders, scrapers, brushes, and cleaning solutions.
- ** Mixing Paints**: Mix paint according to specified formulas or instructions, ensuring accurate color matching and consistency. Use paint mixing equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- ** Equipment Maintenance**: Maintain and clean painting equipment, including spray guns, brushes, rollers, and mixing machines. Ensure that equipment is in good working condition to achieve optimal paint results.
- ** Quality Control**: Inspect surfaces after preparation to ensure that they meet quality standards and are ready for painting. Address any imperfections or issues before proceeding with painting.
- ** Safety Compliance**:Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing paint preparation tasks. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and exposure to harmful substances.
- ** Documentation**: Keep accurate records of paint preparation activities, including materials used, surfaces prepared, and any problems encountered. Maintain inventory of paint supplies and equipment.

**KEY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS**
- Living in Australia (the position is in Oakleigh Melbourne)
- Previous experience in paint preparation, auto body work, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise masking, surface preparation, and paint mixing.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with painters, supervisors, and other team members.
