**About the role**:
You will lead a team that will design and deliver a quality assurance program for the auditor functions for wind energy facilities. This is a Principal role for an experienced scientist or engineer who wants to contribute to the success of EPA during a period of increased demand for noise and vibration expertise for wind energy facilities. The nature of the work is varied and includes technical advice into noise and vibration assessments, compliance and enforcement actions and input into associated policy and guideline development.
You will engage across EPA, government, community and industry to communicate and advance the organisations objectives to enable Victoria to meet it renewable energy targets. You will also inform and participate in targeted research programs that enable EPA to contribute to increasing state of knowledge in relation to noise and vibration assessments.
Working closely with the Manager, Environmental audit, you will lead and manage a team through change to ensure a positive organisational culture and ensure the highest standards of performance and integrity are achieved; and foster genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.
**In this role you will**:
- Lead a team to design the quality assurance for auditor functions for wind energy facilities. Lead your team to achieve high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity; manage the allocation of resources, budgets, business and project planning and reporting; and demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive culture and the development of staff across EPA.
- Lead the development of the broader strategy and quality assurance program for noise and vibration relating to wind energy facilities in collaboration with the Manager Environmental Audit and key internal partners across the organisation. As an active senior leader of the Environmental Audit Unit, contribute to the overall operational strategy and direction of the organisation, ensuring a one-EPA approach to the delivery of priorities; build a high performing workforce that is safety and wellbeing focussed, outcome-orientated, collaborative, innovative, professional, and engaged.
- As a senior leader take a lead role in identifying and delivery noise and vibration improvements in delivery EPA’s regulatory and environmental audit functions, working with academia and other research organisations to address knowledge to optimise outcomes for the EPA and community. Lead and build capability within EPA to undertake our regulatory functions for noise and vibration of wind energy facilities. This role may include representation as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
- Analyse scientific evidence and prepare statements of opinions for use in compliance and enforcement activities, which may include prosecutions.
**Skills and experience**:
- A tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in environmental engineering, acoustics, sound engineering or environmental noise and planning.
- Extensive senior level experience in noise and vibration assessment and the development of noise and vibration management plans.
- Experience in effectively communicating environmental risk advice in relation to noise and vibration to stakeholders such as the community, duty holders and government Ability to effectively manage community feedback.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills which demonstrate a consistent positive attitude and team player.
