Melbourne, Australia Jemena Full time

**Principal Network Operations Specialist**

**About Us**:
Jemena is an Australian energy company who own and operate more than $12.4 Billion worth of gas and electricity transportation assets across Australia supplying millions of households and businesses with these essential services every day.

We pride ourselves on our innovative approach, technical expertise, and dedication to safety, quality, and sustainability. Our Group’s over 3000 team members, consistently strive to make a difference in the communities we serve.

At **Jemena**, we’re shaping the future of energy — and we’re looking for a collaborative and visionary **Principal Network Operations Specialist** to help lead that journey.

This is more than a technical leadership role — it’s an opportunity to **connect people, technology, and purpose**. You’ll bring together engineering, operations, and digital innovation to strengthen the systems that power our communities safely and sustainably.

As our Principal Network Operations Specialist, you’ll provide trusted expertise across our critical IT and OT platforms — including SCADA/ADMS, Outage Management, EAM, GIS, DERMS, and Network Analytics. You’ll guide teams, shape processes, and ensure our systems evolve with the needs of our customers and communities.

You will:

- Lead with purpose as the functional SME for key technology domains — from network operations and planning to asset management.
- Translate complex engineering and operational needs into clear, actionable system solutions.
- Collaborate across teams — partnering with IT, operations, engineering, and vendors to design smarter, more integrated systems.
- Empower teams to embrace digital transformation, process innovation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Support regulatory and safety compliance, ensuring our systems are robust, reliable, and people-focused.
- Represent Jemena in industry groups and forums, advocating for progressive, effective, and sustainable industry practices.

This is a role for a curious, confident, and collaborative leader who thrives on making complex systems work for people. You’ll balance deep technical expertise with empathy and communication, helping diverse teams work together to solve challenges that matter.

You’ll:

- Solid years of experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure — ideally with IT or OT systems in electricity distribution.
- Have hands-on experience with tools like SCADA, ADMS, DERMS, GIS, or EAM (SAP PM).
- Enjoy translating between the technical and operational worlds — ensuring every system improvement drives tangible business and customer outcomes.
- Build strong relationships across teams, fostering trust, transparency, and shared success.
- Feel comfortable influencing at all levels — from technical peers to senior leaders and external partners.

Desirable:

- Experience with integration architecture, data platforms, or automation tools.
- Exposure to cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, or CER integration.
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms like SAP, Power BI, Power Platform, or agentic AI solutions.

**Why you should come and work for us**

Our people are our energy source and we offer meaningful benefits and rewards that work for you. We offer the opportunity for long term career growth as part of our talent development and succession planning process.

Join our team and make a meaningful impact toward Australia’s “Net Zero” targets through the delivery of critical infrastructure projects and be a part of our journey to shape the future of the energy and utilities industry.
