**The opportunity**:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Communications Officer (CO) to help us amplify our brand and mission to the broader community.
As the CO, you'll work closely with our Senior Communications Manager (SCM) to execute our Media & Communications plan, ensuring our message resonates with audiences far and wide. Your role will involve supporting internal and external stakeholders, implementing media communications strategies, and contributing to our internal communications program.
Your creative and strategic input will be valued as you collaborate on key initiatives, ATL campaigns, brand implementation, and communication assets under the guidance of the SCM. With your genuine interest in child-health research and expertise in media channels like Health Industry, Corporate, and Consumer, you'll take charge of day-to-day activities.
To excel in this role, you should bring experience in communications, whether it be across media, marketing, or community engagement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to create a tangible difference in the lives of children worldwide, driven by your passion for child health research.
As a parental leave cover, you will step into a vital position, ensuring continuity and excellence within our team. Your commitment to a 9-month full-time contract will guarantee the smooth operation of our team, while supporting and uplifting your colleagues during their absence.
**Your responsibilities include**:
Support MCRI marketing and communications plans, research/academic agenda and researchers
Implement and coordinate communications activities, support communication plan priorities and support the execution of key messages relating to organisational initiatives and the strategic plan
(e.g. develop communications plan and support for the launch of new health initiatives or fundraising events, content creation and editing for health publications or media release to support research publication etc.)
Support day to day project management including key stakeholder engagement, and post campaign reviews
Provide input to the integrated marketing & communications plan
Create, monitor and update information where relevant to MCRIs external key stakeholder groups and the community to keep them up to date with activities being undertaken by the Institute
**About you**:
Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in at least one area of communications, media, journalism, marketing or public relations
3+ years’ experience in communications, media, marketing, public relations or other related field
Experience in interacting with junior to senior stakeholders and building fruitful relationships
Self-lead and able to work with agility, maturity and resilience
Social media and online media experience, including media monitoring tools and best-practice
Strong team player, quick to learn and willing to pitch in, able to demonstrate emotional intelligence
