The WIL Officer is a key role in the Faculty of
Health’s Work Integrated Learning Support (WILS)
Team. The WIL Officer is responsible for assisting
the WILS team with coordinating student work
integrated learning activities which includes
undertaking a broad range of administrative
processes, client liaison and providing advice and
information to students, staff and external
agencies.
The WIL Officer works in a team environment and
in close collaboration with academic staff.
The WIL Officer has regular contact with students,
academic and professional staff across the Faculty,
and external organisations which work in
partnership with the University in providing work
integrated learning experience for students.
This position reports to the Senior WIL Officer for
supervision, workload management and for
Performance Planning and Review (PPR).
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Contribute to a culture of excellence in customer
service by providing accurate, timely and
courteous advice to stakeholders, and by actively
supporting team objectives and providing
assistance to other team members as required.
- Provide administrative assistance to allow the
coordination and administration of the placement
program for students enrolled in nominated
courses. This includes providing administrative
assistance and support to academic staff and
students in all matters related to work integrating
learning activities; registration of opportunities;
allocation of student placements; maintenance of
appropriate records; and follow-up of supervisor
accreditation requirements where applicable and
comply with approved procedures and systems.
- Deliver high level client service by taking follow up
action for enquiries and see through to resolution
including resolving routine issues
- Deliver a professional frontline management
service through prioritisation methods.
- Prepare documents and spreadsheets, including
written responses to enquiries, using intermediate
functions of software packages including Microsoft
Office.
- Accurate and efficient data input into QUT
corporate systems, and relevant external systems.
In liaison with relevant staff, provide support with
engagement activities related to work integrated
learning and relevant industry partners.
- Contribute proactively to developing and
maintaining strong relationships and networks with
relevant government agencies, industries,
corporations.
- Support work integrated learning officers in the
WILS team to ensure positive placement outcomes
for students; and contribute to the development of
an effective team-based work environment.
- Compliance with health and safety policies,
procedures, hazard reporting and safe work
practices
To ensure job flexibility the successful appointee may
be required to:
- perform any other duties as nominated by the
University consistent with the relevant
classification descriptors detailed in the Enterprise
Agreement. Staff undertaking any new duties will
receive training;
- participate in job rotation or multiskilling in
consultation with their supervisor;
- work across campuses

ongoing, full-time basis.

Selection Criteria
1. Education, training and/or experience
equivalent to completion of an Associate
Diploma in conjunction with relevant work
experience.
2. Demonstrated organisational skills with the
ability to plan and prioritise work; to give
attention to detail and manage time to
achieve goals and meet deadlines under
pressure (within the context of competing
priorities) with limited supervision.
3. Demonstrated interpersonal skills,
including the ability to clearly
communicate, consult, negotiate and liaise
with individuals both internal and external
to the organisation in achieving business
outcomes.
4. Demonstrated written communication
skills, including the ability to effectively
draft, edit and proof documentation.
5. Demonstrated success and commitment to
the provision of high-level client service.
6. Demonstrated computer literacy skills
including proficiency in the use of
Office suite of programs and relational
databases (such as student information
systems).
7. Ability to actively participate in and
contribute to establishing and maintaining
an effective safe and healthy workplace.
**Desirable**:
1. Experience with placement of
students within the Health sector.
**Remuneration and Benefits**
The classification for this position is Higher
Education Worker Level 4 (HEW4) which has
an annual remuneration range of $76,919 to
$80,897 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual
salary range of $64,998 to $68,359 pa, 17%
superannuation, and leave loading.
