Consultant - Ethics & Independence

Risk Management at KPMG plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with the Firm's engagement acceptance policies and we are looking for Consultant to join the Ethics and Independence team within Risk Management. As a consultant in the conflicts resolvers team you will ensure processes for identifying conflicts of interests are performed and safeguards are implemented to manage such conflicts.
**Key Responsibilities**
The Consultant will be responsible for:
- Conducting conflict of interest checks in Sentinel (our Risk Management System)
- Liaising with the Divisional Risk Management Partners and team members for any potential commercial conflicts identified in Sentinel.
- Liaising with members of engagement team, when necessary, to assess the parties involved and the services provided in the engagement.
- Liaising with other conflicts teams at other KPMG member firms globally
- Communicating with engagement teams of conflicts identified and advise them on processes and procedures to be followed as well as safeguards to be applied.
- Responding to queries from staff and partners relating to Sentinel in a timely and efficient manner.
- Liaising with Global Business Operations for action items and other requirements.
- Assisting users to get the best value from Sentinel and integrated systems.
- Preparing, updating, and maintaining user documentation and guidance.
- Providing assistance and support to other Ethics and Independence team members as and when required.
**Other Responsibilities**:
- Remain resilient under pressure and prioritise multiple tasks, as necessary.
- Develop processes or procedures that create efficiencies internally or for the business.
- Identify appropriate solutions and provide adequate rationale to support your decision.
- Build effective relationships with KPMG partners and staff, including consulting with other parts of Risk Management to share ideas and knowledge on specific business issues and needs.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience working in an office environment or customer facing business.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft products (Dynamics CRM preferable).
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high standard of work.
- Comfortable working with multiple systems and high volume of data.
- Ability to use a range of techniques to identify and analyse issues.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Professional and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to liaise with people at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
