- The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an **Assistant Manager - Violent Extremism (VE) Case Coordination** to play a critical role in the assessment, classification, and sentence planning of individuals in custody who pose a risk of violent extremism.

**About the Business Unit**
- This role sits within the Major Offenders Unit (MOU), part of the Sentence Management Division at Corrections Victoria. The division is responsible for identifying the needs of people in custody and matching them to appropriate correctional resources. The MOU monitors individuals identified as high-profile, high-risk, or complex, including those posing a risk of violent extremism, across both prison and community correctional settings.

**About the Role**
- The Assistant Manager - VE Case Coordination supports the assessment, classification, sentence, and intervention planning for individuals in custody identified as posing a risk of violent extremism. The role involves regular travel to Corrections Victoria facilities across the state and contributes to strategic decisions regarding placement and management of this cohort.
- Some of your duties will include:

- Conducting risk assessments and placement reviews for individuals in custody, with a focus on countering violent extremism.
- Reviewing and advising on the management of individuals in Management and High Security Units.
- Maintaining prison portfolio responsibilities and liaising with prison management and key stakeholders.
- Reviewing and approving Case Management Review Committee recommendations in line with Corrections Victoria policy.
- Contributing to operational demand and vacancy management.
- Preparing complex reports and contributing to policy and procedure development.

**About you**
- To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Experience or understanding of countering violent extremism is highly desirable, however not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
- A commitment to inclusive practices and cultural awareness.

**Qualifications/requirements**
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
- Experience in sentence management, case coordination, or related fields is highly regarded.
