**The Client**
Alcoa of Australia are a global industry leader in bauxite, alumina and aluminium products. IMS Workforce (IMSW) provides technical services to Alcoa with our teams embedded across all Alcoa operations in Western Australia.
**The Role**
The role of Construction Coordinator (CC) is to supervise and manage Contractors involved in executing the scope of work for the construction projects and the associated Work Pack portfolio meeting Alcoa standards and legislative requirements whilst maintaining compliance with EH&S, scope of works, specifications, budget and schedule.
The CC works to ensure the interface between construction Contractors, Alcoa’s Construction Team and where applicable the Engineering Service provider (ESP) is well defined and executed at all stages of the construction program. Acts as the Alcoa Responsible Person (ARP) in accordance with Alcoa’s EHS policy and procedures.
**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Coordination of inspections to ensure earthworks, civil, tailings and associated construction work is performed according to approved plans and specifications.
- Inspect and report on installations and alterations of work to assure that approved materials are used and the quality of workmanship.
- Directs and verifies corrections on items that are not in compliance.
- Observes and validates tests of installations, equipment, and materials. Ensures the Contractor(s) have all the necessary permits approved and in place to allow onsite work to proceed in accordance with Authority to Proceed documentation.
- Co-ordinates the worksite access between Contractor(s) and operations and manages interface issues.
**Skills & Experience**
- Civil Construction experience, ideally with tailings or residue exposure
- Certificate IV in Front Line Management
- 5 years in an engineering or construction field
- Experience of managing teams of contractors
- Business and customer focus are critical
- Exposure and experience in contractor alliance relationships

IMS Workforce predominantly work with clients in the Mining, Oil and Gas, Infrastructure and Heavy Industry sectors in Western Australia. We have a long standing contract that provides HSE advisors, Contractor Coordinator and Construction Coordinator resources to they Alcoa owners team at Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup refinery's.
