**Why Your Role Matters**:
Working as part of the External Engagement Team, the News & Content Coordinator role delivers the news and content strategies for the Faculty of Engineering by collaborating closely with the faculty as well as central corporate communications, social media and newsroom teams to create all forms of content, including video, multimedia, social media as well as long-form articles.
Highly customer-focused and demonstrating commitment to excellence, your role will be focused on sourcing and creating compelling content and securing opportunities to promote the faculty’s thought-leadership and research expertise in support of the University’s strategy to position UNSW as a global leader in higher education teaching and research.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Engagement you will be joining a passionate team of professionals who actively collaborate towards the goal of reaching key audiences to increase engagement and strengthen the UNSW brand.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Develop and execute content across multiple digital platforms, our newsroom, websites, video production and social media platforms.
- Converting and communicating research and media activities into useable digital content.
- Reaching various audiences with an effective writing style and delivering high-impact messaging.
- Pitching, writing and placing stories to secure high quality media coverage profiling faculty research as well as responding to media inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Develop tailored, engaging social media content, with a planned pipeline for paid and organic content.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and providing a customer-focused service and demonstrate commitment to excellence.
- Monitoring and reporting on content and metrics
- Contributing to the ideation and content production and editing process and understanding target audience profiles.
- Provide advice to stakeholders about media strategy and science communications, including most appropriate channels to deliver effective and targeted messages to relevant audiences.
**Who You Are**: This role will suit a creative content creator and communicator
- someone who is innovative in their approach and across both traditional and digital mediums alongside:
- Relevant qualification coupled with experience in media and digital communications, including social media community management.
- Strong writing and editing skills for long form writing, and substantial experience with social and other digital media.
- Very strong oral, visual and written communication skills, particularly in distilling complex information into simple messages for communication to a diverse group of stakeholders Proven expertise in content production, curation across digital mediums as well as community management
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative and consultative manner to meet tight deadlines.
- Outstanding attention to detail, with excellent oral, visual and written communication skills for long form content.
- A skilled and confident communicator, with a can-do attitude and exceptional interpersonal abilities
