**THE OPPORTUNITY**

We have an exciting opportunity for an
**Operations Supervisor** to join our high-performing and innovative R&PD Team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology Development, you will be responsible for the operations of state-of-the-art machines and equipment supporting the delivery of R&D projects.

This role will focus on the operations, improvement and research of a wide range of pilot scale manufacturing and analytical equipment. The function will support materials development, process development, product development, prototyping and general operations requests of the process plant.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure pilot plant operations run **efficiently**, with a focus on **safety** and **quality**:

- **Lead safety, improvement or upgrade projects** in plant area to ensure they meet requirements
- **Schedule and plan **day-to-day operations with technical development teams
- Contribute to **technical development** through accurate data recording, process observations and knowledge
- **Lead** the **sourcing** and **procurement** **functions** for day-to-day operations of the Pilot Line
- **Plan** and **oversee** the **maintenance** of production equipment and repairs
- Be a safety leader within the area of plant operations, contributing to the James Hardie ‘Zero Harm’ culture
- **Lead** **production** operators
- **Troubleshoot** technical processing issues, and **investigate** the cause of failures
- **Develop** and **enhance** good relations with all internal and external customers
- **Collaborate** **effectively** with manufacturing personnel, vendors and suppliers to deliver the best solution to the business.

**ABOUT YOU - WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**

**Essential**
- Demonstrated ability in operations planning and scheduling
- Demonstrated experience in leading operations and operations team
- Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule to meet the requirements of multiple stakeholders
- Possess a good understanding of equipment operations and maintenance
- Highly motivated self-starter

**Desirable**
- Preferred 6+ years of relevant experience in an operations environment
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Process/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering) OR a trade qualification in an applicable trade (fitter, electrical, mechanic or related)
- Desirable experience in developing new manufacturing technologies
- Desirable experience in planning and executing R&D and factory trials
