NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the Service Planning Directorate team as a Service Planner.
**About the role**
You will contribute to the identification, preparation and development of school infrastructure service needs which meet NSW population growth, school asset suitability, sustainability, and education equity. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking infrastructure division within the Department of Education. This is role may be of interest to people with qualifications in urban planning infrastructure planning or related sectors.
Role requirements include:
- Assisting the team of Service Planners to identify school infrastructure needs
- Researching and analysing relevant information to assist with the development of service need strategies and reports
- Preparing reports, briefings and analysis on asset planning strategies in accordance with departmental and government policies
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders including local councils, state agencies, local stakeholders and developers in relation to planning and development issues to add value to the planning process and to identify opportunities for resource sharing.

**About you**
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure planning
- Experience in research and analysis of development of services for infrastructure needs
- Extensive experience in writing reports and briefings of asset planning strategies
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality support across multiple priorities
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline an/or equivalent workplace experience
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
