**How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space**:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Classify and code financial transactions appropriately.
- Update and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly.
- Process and track invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintaining the Fixed asset Register and depreciation schedules.
- Reconcile bank statements with the general ledger.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assisting the Accountant with the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
- Generating General Ledger reports when requested.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for audits.
- Assist in processing payroll transactions accurately and on time and reconciling relevant accounts.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations related to payroll.
- To prepare statistical reports as required
- Assist in financial analysis and budgeting as needed.
- Provide insights into financial trends and performance.
- Any other reasonable duties required by management.
**Skills and Experience**:
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of a diploma in accounting
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages (Xero experience is highly desirable)
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards.
- A min of 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role within Australia required.
- Valid Australian driver’s license.
**Soft Skills**:
- Accuracy and attention to detail are critical in maintaining precise financial records.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills, as bookkeepers often work with other departments and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Ability to analyse financial data and provide meaningful insights.
**Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

- Experience on Grant related accounting and reporting will be beneficial.
- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
