**A little about the role**

Working closely with the technical leads, your primary focus will require you to oversee, develop and implement safety and human factors related activities in accordance with industry and legislative standards that support implementation of client’s requirements and project delivery.

Typical duties you will be responsible for delivering against include:

- Leading and implement human factors and safety activities to meet client’s requirements.
- Lead and support internal technical teams in delivering client’s projects.
- Working in accordance with Rail National Safety Law and the relevant statutory and industry legislations.
- Following client’s management systems and their organisation’s assurance arrangements.
- Supporting development of Human Factors and safety deliverables where required.
- Supporting and developing submissions for assurance gate approvals as required.

**What we need from you**
- Tertiary qualification in Safety, Human Factors (HF) or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-5 years’ working experience in the discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working on HMI, station or infrastructure design and physical /cognitive Human Factors, in complex operational environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of Systems Engineering and Assurance framework and the relationship with Safety and Human Factors.
- Strong experience in the development, implementation and delivery of safety and Human Factors deliverables such as PSHL, HFIP, HFIR, HF & hazard assessment reports etc.
- Good exposure to systems design, technical specifications, and / or disciplinary standards.
- Knowledge of Rail Safety National Law, industry safety regulations and standards.
- **Preferred**_
- Experience in risk management or systems assurance management.
- Experience in assurance strategies, safety cases or relevant gate approval submissions.
- Knowledge of implementation and operation of complex systems in live operating environment.
- Rail Safety Induction and/ or Construction Industry OHS Induction Training.
- Lead or support human factors, risk, system safety and safety in design workshops.
- Support HF specific assessment and analysis where required.
- Verify and validate HF and/ or safety requirements throughout the system lifecycle.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
