**About the role**

ADEC is seeking a Domestic Assistant - **Italian** & **Greek** speaking to join our team on a casual ongoing basis. In this role, you will provide essential domestic assistance services to our clients in **Lalor VIC 3075**, **Keilor East VIC 3033**, **Reservoir VIC 3073**, **Coburg VIC 3058**, **Preston VIC 3072**, **Northcote VIC 3070** areas.

As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our amazing NDIS and Aged Care clients to maintain their independence and quality of life within their own homes.

**What you'll be doing**
- Provide light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Assist clients with grocery shopping and running essential errands
- Offer companionship and social support to clients through engaging conversation and activities
- Liaise with clients' families and other care providers to ensure a coordinated approach to client care
- Maintain detailed records of services provided and report any concerns to the care coordination team

**What we're looking for**
- Excellent communication skills in Italian and/or Greek, in addition to proficiency in English
- Previous experience in a similar domestic assistance or aged/disability care role
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach when working with vulnerable clients
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the wider care team
- Commitment to upholding the privacy, dignity, and wellbeing of our clients
- Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (Essential)
- Second language**:Italian or Greek**

**To Thrive in this role, you will have**:

- Certificate III in Home or Aged Care is advantageous, but not essential.
- Passion about helping people in your community, with strong relationship building, time management and budget management skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A safe, sensible approach with a practical understanding of people's physical limitations.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to meet clients' individual needs.

AWARD AND CLASSIFICATION:
All ADEC employees are employed under the terms, conditions and entitlements of the Modern Award - Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS); and the National Employment Standards (NES). The classification for this position is Level 1.1
