We represent a leading national law firm with a reputation for their excellent culture and top-tier quality personnel. They advise across the complete range of legal services for clients of all sizes including major public and private corporations and multiple government bodies.

**The Employment Team**

The Employment team offers comprehensive employment law and industrial relations services to their clients, often working on high-profile and complex matters. They predominantly focus on litigation and pre-litigation work, although they are also experienced in advice and alternative dispute resolution.

The group advise a range of clients including trade unions, executives, non-executive employees and number of high-profile non-for-profit entities, as well as playing a key role in the firm's pro bono work.

**Position Description**

As a result of growth, the busy Melbourne team now have an opportunity for an Associate to join their Employment team.

You will have direct client exposure and be responsible for managing files with appropriate support and supervision in a friendly team environment. Some of the employment and industrial law matters you will participate in include, but are not limited to:

- Representing trade unions in relation to internal and regulatory matters, enforcing enterprise agreements, conducting strategic litigation as well as advising and representing individual union members;
- Representing clients before commissions of inquiry and in other regulatory environments;
- Advising on, and acting in contractual disputes for executives including restraints of trade, remuneration claims and confidential information matters;
- Acting for employees in negotiating employment terms and separation agreements; dismissal-related claims; underpayments; discrimination claims; workplace investigations and whistleblowing matters;
- Advising incorporated and unincorporated associations on internal governance and regulatory matters;
- Advising clients in relation to State and Commonwealth electoral laws.
