**About the Company**

Great opportunity to join a local council on a 12 months contract (with a further 12 month extension) as a Recreational Planner / Planning Officer

You will join a broader team of planners and partake in a wide range of projects including the

future development of local Parks, sportsgrounds and outdoor reaction facilities.

**About the role**

Within this role you will
- Provide specialist recreation planning, strategy and policy advice and analysis
- Establish and maintain co-operative and effective partnerships including with relevant sport, recreation, community and government organisations and internal Council teams
- Undertake community engagement
- Collect and analyse data as part of evidence-based planning, strategy and policy development

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Sport, Recreation, Planning or relevant industry experience
- Experience as a Recreational Planner / Office within local government
- Planning experience within local government
- Willing to travel where necessary around the local region for work
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent people skills
- Experience leading and delivering successful sport and recreation programs and projects including planning, strategy and or policy development

**Benefits**
- A competitive hourly rate of $60 p/h (higher or lower based on experience)
- 12 month contract (with an option to roll for another 12 months)
