**The opportunity**
We’re all here to help deliver great retirement outcomes for our members. Your role supports UniSuper doing this by b eing a trusted adviser to the business on the end-to-end procurement life cycle. You will use your procurement expertise and strong stakeholder engagement skills to assist the business to ensure compliance to policies, operational efficiencies, deliver strategic outcomes and drive maximum value from our external partners. **This is a 6 month max term contract role, based in Melbourne.**
In this role you will be in a position to:
- Use your strong stakeholder engagement skills to be a trusted partner and adviser to stakeholders and be a thought leader and mentor to other team members
- Use your procurement expertise to drive commercial decisions that deliver the best value for money for our members
- Present data and insights to stakeholders demonstrating opportunities for improvement within key product and service categories
- Participate and contribute to committees setup to support strategic objectives or regulatory requirements, such as Modern Slavery Working Group, Reconciliation Action Plan Committee and risk committees
- Develop and maintain a suite of category plans that demonstrate a detailed knowledge of key spend categories
- Lead or guide strategic sourcing events and support procurement self-service where appropriate
- Provide education and guidance to internal stakeholders to ensure they understand their accountability and obligations in relation to engaging and managing external vendors for the contracts they have overall responsibility
- Ensure existing contracts within the portfolio are up to date, appropriately stored, accessible to relevant stakeholders, and fit for purpose
- Identify key supply partners according to spend, supply criticality and ability to drive strategic outcomes & partnerships
- For selected key vendors, work with business unit stakeholders to ensure that performance is regularly monitored, to maintain, improve and extract value from negotiated and executed agreements
**What capabilities will set you up for success**
We are looking for an individual who has worked in a fast moving transformation environment and is comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity. Besides, you will bring:
- Significant experience in a Procurement or Commercial role (sourcing, category management and/or vendor management) in a dynamic, complex, changing environment
- Experience developing complex Total Cost of Ownership models
- Experience developing and implementing Category Plans
- Experience in developing and negotiating complex contracts
- Degree or Diploma in Finance, Business, Engineering or a related commercially orientated discipline
- Experience within the Superannuation or general Financial Services / Insurance industry sector would be an advantage but not essential
- Experience in general Project Management and/or commercial manager roles would be an advantage but not essential
