Position:
Female Disability Support-Trauma Informed
**Duties**:
Support clients to participate in age-appropriate activities and tasks, including employment, in
- home support and community access.Support clients to access activities and outings in the community.Provide direct care assistance to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed.Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures and client rights, including privacy and confidentiality.Monitor the safety and well-being of the clients and report any concerns to the Manager.Provide 1: 1 or small group training and support in response to individual client needs.Ensure completion of appropriate documentation. Relevant information on support provided is to be recorded in client notes and communication books as required.Work with clients, family/carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client's individual goals.Report regularly to their line manager.Provide backup and support to other staff as necessary.Clients receive appropriate levels of support essential to promote and maintain independence and participate in age-appropriate activities.Ensure all clients receive a high level of care and support.Provide personal care to clients in a caring and supportive way.Demonstrate service procedures are followed with documented evidence.Comply with all internal policies and procedures.Ensure accurate records that demonstrate clients have received correct medical and dietary intakes as prescribed by medical practitioners and as per service policy and procedures.Maintain a high level of communication with the Operations Manager, including advising of any potential risks to clients or the organisation.Comply with mandatory training in WHS, Manual Handling, Medication and Infection Control every year.Comply with the NDIS Code of Conduct to support participants in ways that are respectful and inclusive.Coach and build confidence in participants to develop the skills they need, such as cooking, budgeting, and shopping.Provide personal care, such as showering, dressing or other tasks, responding flexibly to participant preferences. Domestic assistance, meal prep and cooking.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, community or equivalent
**Experience**:
- Experience in supporting people with disabilities.
- Complex trauma and psychosocial disabilities experience a necessity
- Experienced mental health support
- Experience in manual handling (desirable).
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Clear and effective communication skills and the ability to establish a professional relationship with participants and their families.Attention to detail and accuracy in record management.Flexibility to work over a 7-day roster and the availability to work overnight shifts or attend training or meetings as required.Strong knowledge of safety within a community setting.Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity and compassion.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Client-focused and person-centred.Commitment to social inclusion and valuing difference and diversity.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $41.76 - $75.17 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
