We are currently looking for a
**Station Operations Specialist** to become part of a talented and passionate team to support the Melbourne Airport Rail (MAR) project on project delivery and operational readiness activities associated with the new and existing stations under the MAR Project scope throughout the project lifecycle including requirements definition, design and construction, staffing resources and training, operational process and procedures, testing and commissioning, trial operations and handover activities.

The key responsibility is to represent Metro Trains Operations to ensure stations meet the needs of all passengers and station staff and allows Metro Trains to operate and maintain the stations efficiently and safely on Day-1 and into the revenue service.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**
- Work closely with the Alliances / Integrated Program & System (IPAS) / Rail Project Victoria (RPV) to define and clarify the operating requirements, conduct submission review, and resolve issues that arise throughout the project lifecycle, while ensuring Metro’s ability to meet State KPIs is not diminished or adequately compensated for.
- Understand all relevant project requirements and influencing the MAR design for delivery of Metro’s Final Operational Requirements and the operational components of Metro’s Safety Management Systems, and champion these on behalf of the Metro Business.
- Consult with internal stakeholders on MAR operational requirements and to gain approval on any changes to Metro’s operational requirements or business requirements, keeping stakeholders informed of potential operational issues attributed to the MAR Project.
- Understand cross-project requirements (eg. MTP) to assess impacts to the stations operation and ensure interfaces are understood and appropriately managed.
- Identify and resolve / support the resolution of process and operational issues with relevant stakeholders to ensure project and package integration.
- Provide support to Change Management activities, including the identification and assessment of change impact to various roles and processes.
- Develop station operational strategy and define station operational processes. Prepare / update operational procedures associated with new / modified processes, and manage the corresponding procedure review / approval / publication process to enable timely input to the training and Trial Operations activities.
- Manage the timely availability of competent station resources including resources planning, acquisition and training.
- Develop the test scripts and assessment criteria for station related Process Validation Exercises (PVE), plan and manage the corresponding PVE implementation activities.

**About You**
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science would be preferred
- Rich experience in station operations
- Experience delivering end user requirements in a Transport Industry (preferred)
- Ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings from an end user perspective
- Understand project management methodologies in a delivery phase
- Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to whilst managing complex situations, having solid problem solving and negotiating skills
- Ability to maintain a professional approach with all personnel across all levels and foster a team orientated culture
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally & written will all levels of stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail, ability to write reports and manage time effectively.
