Support Workers - we are putting together a new team
- We are looking to build a new team around our newest Participant based just 20 minutes south of Caloundra
- Multiple shifts available around a 24/7 roster - permanent and casual staff required
- Full training provided in positive behaviour support - learn new skills in best practice

We are currently looking to build a new team of Support Workers around our newest Participant, based just 20 mins south of Caloundra to help him live independently. A spirited 18-year-old man with passions in sport and aspirations to work towards representing Australia at the Special Olympics, he is looking for a team that will help him enjoy both outdoor activities as well as relaxing at home with some gaming or tv as well as assistance with daily living tasks.

The new team will receive full training in understanding his Care Plan and in what excellent positive behaviour support looks like in order to receive the right outcomes. As a support worker, your day may be a mixed bag of activity with some days physically exhausting, but with a fantastic team of like-minded people in place - everyone will be well-supported.

Responsibilities shall include:

- Personal care
- Assisting with daily living tasks to promote independent living
- Community access and assistance with outdoor activites
- Helping to build and maintain relationships or pursue any interests through accessing community activities, venues or services
- Build and maintain meaningful work relationships with your Mercy family, wider services and other networks to collaboratively work together in the best interest of the person we support

About You
- Previous experience in and knowledge of the disability, allied health, welfare or education fields.
- A passion for working with people with disabilities.
- Possess sound computer and literacy skills.
- Availability to commit to a permanent roster or work flexible hours. We are looking for people for all types of shifts including overnights/sleep-overs and weekend shifts.
- Understanding and commitment to a person-centered model of practice.
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Hold a current Blue and Yellow Exemption Card / NDIS Workers Screening, or have the ability to obtain prior to commencement
