**Position Information**:
Ryde East Public School is situated on the land of the Wallumedegal people in North Ryde, within the Ryde Network of schools, with a student enrolment of approximately 400. 34% of students identify as having English as an Additional Language or Dialect, and there a small number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The school has a strong connection to the local community with an active parent community and supportive Parents and Citizens Association. The school values positive relationships with parents to enhance student engagement, progress, and achievement.
Ryde East Public School has strong sporting, creative and performing arts programs. Students represent the school in music and dance ensembles, and a wide range of sporting activities, with both state and regional representation. In response to community consultation, specialist staff have been engaged to target learning in specific areas, including creative arts, specifically visual arts and drama, and STEM.
Staff experience high quality targeted professional learning that aligns with the school's strategic directions, including a focus on pedagogy and curriculum implementation in the areas of English and Mathematics. Staff, and the school community, continue to enhance the school environment to better support collaborative practices, educational programs, and resourcing.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Capacity to work collaboratively as a visible member of a range of school teams to reflect on practices and strategically lead the school towards excellence across all domains of the School Excellence Framework.
- Proven capacity to lead, develop, sustain and monitor effective student and staff wellbeing and mentoring practices to ensure all students and staff are improving and are known.
Evidence of highly visible leadership skills including strong communication and emotional intelligence to maintain and promote a school culture of high expectations and inclusivity within the school and its wider community, in a changing educational landscape.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
